Astro pre-empts Talk Asia repeats

Via Malaysia's Ralph Nader, Jeff Ooi. Astro, Malaysia's largest pay television operator, decided not to show the repeat of Talk Asia's (Lorraine Hahn) interview with DSAI. It originally aired on Saturday and was slated for two repeats on Sunday. Astro chose to show a different Talk Asia episode in it's place.

MAS

Malaysian Air is taking a beating on Screenshots. I can't say that I'm surprised. My parents came to visit last year and they had nothing but glowing remarks about the service. My answer was, "Shows you how terrible the service on flights in America are". I have travelled too many times to count on MAS. If you ask three different people a question, you will get three different answers. While I don't have near the readership of Mr. Jeff Ooi, if you have a complaint about any airline, feel free to post it here.

War Crime

UN irrelevant?

Please tell me you remember. First, the UN wasn't swayed by America and Britain's arguments to go to War in Iraq. Then the spin monsters were out telling the world that the UN was irrelevant. Well, Bush went back. Many times. And everytime he doesn't get his way, cries of IRRELEVANT come out of the woodwork. The latest from good 'ole Oliver North via Fox News. (Where has he been?) The funny thing is......if the UN is so IRRELEVANT, why does the President of the US keep going back?

Israel Spy Update

Island Wiped From the Face of the Earth?

As most of you know, the Caribbean and Florida have been pounded by wave after wave of Hurricanes this season. Apparently Tortuga, a small island in the Caribbean that is home to 26,000 people, has disappeared underwater with the passing of Hurricane Jeanne.

Saddam Running for President?

Via Zaman, apparently Saddam wants to run for President. According to a recent poll, a significant portion of Iraqi's want him back.

Stefano remarked that a recent Gallup poll indicates that 42 percent of the Iraqi people want their former leader back

Paranoid

As you know, I've recently been very critical of JihadWatch. Previously, it was just as an innocent bystander that was fed up with their obvious racism and ignorance. Now it's personal. Today, via AFP, they quote the Prime Minister's statement about US policies fuelling terrorism. Excuse me? This statement has been made by leaders from around the world. What's the story? We're predominantly Muslim. Check out the comments and see the ignorance for yourself. If you feel so inclined, please feel free to enlighten the poor Occidents.

Freedom of Press

All of the pro-Malaysiakini, pro-free speechers in Malaysia love to use America as an example of free speech. I'm not saying these people are wrong in their desire for unrestrained press but I would caution them on blindly using the US as an example. See this story from ifamericansknew.

On No Fly List, Still On Plane

By now you know that Yusef Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, was denied entry into the US because he apparently was on a no fly list. If you missed it, read here. I'm not going to the debate if his denied entry is fair or not. Nor am I going to debate if he should be on a no fly list or not.
However, most people are missing the point. If he was on a no fly list, how did he ever get on the plane in the first place? America more secure? Not so sure.
